Winter Magic 2013

I know I promised more posts this week than last but so far I've failed miserably and it is Friday already! I got struck down by a horrible sickness bug on Saturday and I am only just shaking it off. Unfortunately I'm now getting a cold so I don't think I'll be up for much blogging much for a while longer.

But back to today's post, a few weekends back the hubby and I hopped on the train to the Blue Mountains to check out the Winter Magic Festival in Katoomba. The weather was disgustingly rainy in Sydney but by the time we hit the Blue Mountains the sun was shining and it was a clear and crisp winter day.

We arrived in Katoomba just in time for the start of the grand parade. The streets were already packed with people and it was a little difficult to get a good viewing spot but we managed to see most of the parade.
After the parade we headed down Main Street to check out what the stalls had on offer. We picked up a couple of coffees from Sophie's Scoops (a delightful ice cream stall) to warm us up and sampled the nougat on offer at Nougat Limar then headed onto Parke Street for even more stalls carrying an array of goodies.
Having glanced into the Blue Mountain Cultural Centre and seeing the fantastic views I dragged the hubby inside and onto the viewing platform out back to take in the fantastic views over Katoomba.
After enjoying our coffees and taking in the views we cut back onto Katoomba Street (which was absolutely packed with people) to check out what was on offer at the stalls there before making our way back down the street to the station and hopping on the train back to Sydney!
