Tomorrow is the annual Fifties Fair at Rose Seidler House. Unfortunately due to other commitments I cannot attend again this year but for any of you thinking about going here is the official blurb from their website:
Have a blast and relive the good times at the annual Fifties Fair with live swing and rockin’ hillbilly, DJs & dancing, and vehicle displays set against the backdrop of Rose Seidler House.
Look sharp in your finest 50s threads for your chance to win the “best dressed” fashion awards, enjoy the variety show, glam up with our onsite hair stylist, and keep the kids entertained with crafts and activities.
Specialist collectors and dealers will sell fabulous 50s pieces including household gadgets, toys, jewellery, knick-knacks, books, clothing and furniture.
Rose Seidler House – Harry Seidler’s first Australian commission (1948-50) – features an open plan minimalist design with all the mod cons of the day. Its post-war design collection is one of the country’s most important. Tours of the house will be offered throughout the day.
A free shuttle bus will be running all day to and from Turramurra station
LIVE MUSIC – The Velvet Set, The Rechords & Lanie Lane
For more information and the official programme check out the website above.
OMG,I just read your reply to my comment about the Camelia Gardens. Can't believe you live in Cronulla! That's my locality! I lived in Mortdale and worked in Bondi and Cronulla.2 of my best friends lived in the Cronulla area,so I know the area very well. The photo on the side with my sister is at Nulla nulla cafe.I practically grew up swimming at Cronulla and bushwalking at that place you get the ferry to from Cronulla station - god that's gonna bug me till I remember the name. And many rainy days in high school spent window shopping and at the movies at Miranda Westfield.God,I'm getting all nostalgic now :P xox
ReplyDeleteBundeena? How funny is that! Ahh well im sure ill be bposting about alot more places in the area so you'll feel right at home. I read in your blog you and your scotsman are planning to move back to oz eventually. Will you come back to this area? xx
ReplyDeleteThat's it! That was bugging me the whole night,I just kept picturing all these places and couldn't think of the names.I would love to come back and stay there.Coogee or Bronte if I could afford it but that seems highly unlikely. However looking at rental prices,I'm seriously warming to his idea of staying a wee bit outside of Sydney like Kiama or Woolongong. It will be another year and a half or so,so we'll see,but it will defo be Sydney and surrounds. Can't wait to hear more about our home.xox
ReplyDeleteAwesome blog! Do you have any hints for aspiring writers?
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping to start my own website soon but I'm a little lost on

Howdy, I'm new to blogging and websites in general and was wanting to know how you got the "www" included in your domain name? I see your domain, "http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=8721652661174396460&postID=1885196632122333832" has the www and my web address looks like, "http://mydomain.com". Do you know the way I can change this? I'm using Wordpress.
