Valentines day seems to have passed the hubby and I by without either of us realising. What with the move and the fact I worked a double shift on V day we didn't have time to do anything special. Although we have planned to have a nice quiet evening in our new place on Thursday night with a yummy dinner followed by a couple of glasses of wine and a bubbly bath together!I'm sure everyone by now have heard the story of St Valentine but did you know that the first personal ad was published in the weekly phamplet entitled A Collection for Improvement of Husbandry and Trade in 1695 and read:
"A Gentleman about 30 Years of Age that says he had a Very Good Estate, would willingly Match himself to some Good Young Gentlewoman, that has a Fortune of 3000l. or thereabouts, and he will make Settlement to Content."
And people have been using personal ads to find love ever since!!!
