Night Noodle Markets 2012

On Monday night the hubby and I went into the city to check out the Night Noodle Markets at Hyde Park. The Night Noodle Markets are on every year as part of the Crave Food Festival. You may remember my post on them last year here. This years markets were even bigger and better than last year with so much choice of yummy street dishes we didn't know where to start.
So we started with my favourite pork dumplings from Din Tai Fung. This place claims to make the best dumplings in Australia and I've yet to find any that beat them. I just adore this little parcels of goodness. You can read my review of them over at the Hubby's blog Simon's Foodie Challenge.
Our next stop was Mamak stall to sample their famous Roti Canai. We've tried to get our hands on one of these simple yet delicious dishes before but every time we go to Mamak the queue is round the block! Watching the guy making the Roti was an experience in itself as he whirled the paper thin dough through the air twisting and turning it then the delicate bread is folded and cooked on a griddle. The delicious naan like bread is served simply with curry and sweet chilli sauces and is absolutely delicious.

After wolfing down these delicious dishes we stopped by Eight Modern Chinese's stall to grab some duck pancakes and the hubby grabbed a box of noodle for us to share. Unfortunately these all got scoffed before I could photograph them.

We topped off the evenings street food feast with delicious pancakes from St Honore Bakery.
The Night Noodle Markets are on for another few nights so if you're in Sydney check them out!
