The Freshbake Show 2013

On Sunday the Hubby and I headed to the Entertainment Quarter to check out the Fresh Bake show being held at Byron Kennedy Hall. The show was a little smaller than I imagined but being its first year i'm sure its an event that will grow. As we headed through the door we were greeted with show bags full of goodies and given an entrant form to win a Westinghouse oven. After filling these out we stopped to watch the baking demonstration at the kitchen stage being given by Nancy Ho, Pino Locantro & Christina Batista.
After the demonstration we took a wander around the stalls and after sampling almost every one on offer, picked up some oil and vinegar from the Pukara Estate stall.
I adored these amazing Christmas cakes that were on display on the Cake Decorating Central stall and the beautiful macaroon towers on Locantro's stall.

Having checked out all the goodies on offer we went to the demonstration room to catch the talk on artisan baking as given by Graham of Companion Bakery in Tasmania. We did consider sticking around after this for the judging of the baking contests but we were too tired so we headed home!
