Lion King Musical

As I mentioned earlier in the week, the Hubby and I went to see the Lion King musical on Sunday night for our wedding anniversary.  The Lion King is one of the musicals that I have been dying to see since I heard about its creation so I was super excited to finally be seeing it. After all the anticipation I was worried that it might be a let down but the show was spectacular! Everything about the show from the beautiful music to the great costumes and the stunning puppetry was simply awesome.

The musical is set on the 1994 Disney movie and was first bought to the stage in 1997.  Seen by over 70 million people, Disney’s landmark musical event THE LION KING is a worldwide phenomenon that will redefine your expectations of theatre. Brilliantly re-imagined by acclaimed director Julie Taymor, Disney’s beloved film is transformed into a spectacular theatrical experience which has won over 70 major international theatre awards.

Set against the majesty of the Serengeti Plains this breathtaking production explodes with glorious colours, stunning effects and unforgettable music including Elton John and Tim Rice’s Circle of Life, Hakuna Matata and the Academy Award winning Can You Feel The Love Tonight? At its heart is the powerful and moving story of Simba, the wide-eyed cub who undertakes an epic journey to fulfil his destiny as King of the Pridelands.

Lion King is on at the Capitol Theatre, Sydney until the end of August. You can book tickets through Ticketmaster here
