Brisbane Weekend - Day 2

On our second day in Brisbane after admiring the view from our window we had a lazy breakfast in our room and then got up and ready for a self guided walking tour around the city. I found the walking tour in an old edition of Lonely Planets guide to Queensland but we missed off the last bit looking around the Southbank as we had already seen that the previous evening.
We checked out a lot of beautiful old buildings on our route and stopped in at the Town Hall to take in the views from the clock-tower. After a few false starts we eventually found the lift that lead up to the museum and the entrance to the clock-tower but when we enquired about touring the clocktower we found out the next available tour was not for another hour and as we had book a river cruise for lunch we weren't sure we would have enough time to fit it in so we penciled it in for our next trip along with a visit to the Costumes from the Golden Age of Hollywood exhibition.
Next we headed to the Eagle Street Pier to catch our cruise but arrived a little early so enjoyed a leisurely cup of tea at the Riverbar and Kitchen after which we boarded our paddle steamer for a leisurely cruise and a three course meal aboard the Kookaburra Queen II.
After a few hours floating on the Brisbane river we disembarked and went for a wander around the Botanical Gardens before heading back to our hotel.

I will leave you with a few snaps from our river cruise:
