The Vamp - a seductive woman who uses her sex appeal to exploit men. Similar to the Femme Fatale. Also those dark sensual beauties that put us in mind of vampires. Think Theda Bara, Pola Negri, Marlene Dietrich, Greta Garbo and Louise Brooks
The Bombshell - Normally preceded by blond, Bombshells are popular icons recognized for their curves, sex appeal and larger than life personas. The term carries an implication of a voluptuous female sex icon. During World War II, "Bombshell Girl" referred to the "pinup" girls who were painted onto the sides of WWII planes, bombers, and their bombs. Think Marilyn Munroe, Jean Harlow (who starred in the 1933 film 'Bombshell'), Diana Dors, Jayne Mansfield and Mamie Van Doren.
The Femme Fatale - French for 'deadly woman' an alluring and seductive woman whose charms ensnare her lovers in bonds of irresistible desire, often leading them into compromising, dangerous, and deadly situations. A femme fatale tries to achieve her hidden purpose by using feminine wiles such as beauty, charm, and sexual allure. Think Rita Hayworths characters in The Lady from Shanghai or Gilda.
Any others you can think of dear readers ... x
Loved this. All four are great female characters to implement in modern writing.
