The hubby and I headed into the city on Wednesday as he had to take some work into college. While we were there we stopped for a spot of lunch at Satang Thai on Quay St. We did plan to have a bit of a wander round the city but the weather was a complete washout so instead we headed to our favourite cheap bookshop
Basement Books. It was there I found a fab book for dressmaking entitled
The Dressmaker's Technique Bible: A Complete Guide to Fashion Sewing Techniques by Lorna Knight. At $24.95 it was probably the most expensive book in the store but its definitely worth the money!
The book is simple enough for complete beginners but could also be a handy guide for even the most accomplished dressmakers. It has sections covering essential tools, body shapes, fabric shapes, fabric manipulation, techniques and embellishment ideas and is a complete resource for the designing and making of clothes.
