This Weekend in Sydney

This weekend is the biannual Sydney Vintage Clothing, Jewellery and Textile Show and unfortunately its another that I can't attend! The Sydney Vintage Clothing, Jewellery and Textiles Show is a showcase of Antique and Vintage Clothing, fine Antique and Costume Jewellery and Antique and Vintage Linen, Lace and Textiles and Small Collectables.
There will be many exhibitors selling clothing, jewellery, accessories, linen, lace and collectables. The show will also feature a presentation of vintage fashions, lectures by Guest Speakers, Swing Dancers, Demonstration of Vintage Makeup and Hairstyle Techniques and other fabulous entertainment - see program page for more details.

There will be lots of prizes to be given away for Best Dressed in Vintage, so make sure you come dressed in your favourite vintage outfit.

Lucky Door Prizes will be given away every day and there will also be a raffle conducted.

Free Shuttle Bus will be running from Strathfield and Canterbury Train Stations, see location page for more details. Canteen facilities will be available so come and make a day of it.

Saturday night is Chaz Royal's Big Top Burlesque Folies. From the Internationally Acclaimed ‘King of Burlesque’ Chaz Royal comes an extravaganza of Classic Burlesque and Circus Variety like no other, the Big Top Burlesque Follies.

Blending together classic carnival showgirls with sexy circus sideshow stunts and the variety of true vaudeville, audiences will be treated to a taste of some International ‘Big Top Talent’ and a local cast of the ‘Who’s Who’ on the emerging Australian Burlesque scene. Hosted by International Ringmaster, the dark and often twisted Armitage Shanks from Seattle USA, The Big Top Burlesque Follies stars Europe’s leading Classic Burlesque showgirl, Queen Beeby Rose direct from Amsterdam Holland ‘The most liberated city in the World!’

Local artists include a bevy of buxom Burlesque beauties, cabaret cuties, sexy circus sideshow lasses and a cast of vaudevillians to round out an extravaganza for the history books!

Chaz Royal brings back a bi-gone era of entertainment with his Big Top Burlesque Follies!

Sunday is the monthly Rock n Roll Market. Sydney Rock 'n Roll & Alternative Market features a fabulous array of stalls: Vintage, Rock 'n' Roll, Burlesque, Ska and Alternative Clothing, Jewellery and Accessories, Record's, CD's, Collectables, Art, Comics, Traditional Medicine Women, Candle makers, A Psychic, a Jumping Castle, Face Painting for the kids and a whole lot more. Food is available all day.

The Hollywood Hombres
Plus DJ Jack Shit (FBi)... and DJ Brian

The Hollywood Hombres are Sydney's Premier Jump Blues Outfit. Formed by a nucleus of Sydney’s premier roots musicians – vocalist and composer Wes Pudsey, guitarist Robert Taylor, bassist Dean Upston and drummer Bruce Dunlop. Helping to create the unique Hombres style are wild saxophonist Martin Davison and Boogie-Woogie maestro Aaron Towerton. Adding a further element to this heady mix is swingin’ chanteuse Miss Pia Andersen, who tempers the Hombres’ Wynonie Harris and T-Bone Walker influence with the hipster stylings of Etta James and Ella Mae Morse.

Market Stalls are open from 11am - 4.30pm,
Music from 1:00pm - 6.30pm.

This is a FREE event!

Catch the 422 bus from Newtown Station or take a 10 minute stroll from Wolli Creek or Tempe Train Stations.
So all in all a fab weekend here in Sydney!
