Nuffnang's The Croods 3D Advance Screening

A few weekends back the hubby and I headed over to Hoyts Entertainment Quarter to catch a screening of The Croods in 3D put on by the lovely people at Nuffnang. We headed into the movie theatre grabbing our 3D glasses and these cute figurines on the way and settled in our seats.
The Croods is a prehistoric comedy adventure that follows the world's first family as they embark on a journey of a lifetime when the cave that has always shielded them from danger is destroyed. Traveling across a spectacular landscape, the Croods are rocked by generational clashes and seismic shifts as the discover an incredible new world filled with fantastic creatures -- and their outlook is changed forever.
So how was the movie you ask? (OK you didn't but I'm going to tell you anyway!) We'll the hubby and I both loved it. The story is both funny and heartwarming. It was entertaining enough to keep the children in the theatre interested but also intelligent enough to entertain. The storyline of the clash between Eep and her father Grug was particularly touching.

The animation and 3D effects were simply amazing. From the individual hairs on Grug's beard to the embers of fire that drifted out of the screen. With a great story written by John Cleese and the fabulous Dreamworks animation The Croods is a movie the whole family will love.
After the movie the hubby and I stopped for a spot of lunch and I came across this fun Crood-ify Yourself iPhone app where you can turn yourself into a member of the Croods family so here is me as Eep.

Thanks to the lovely people at Hoyts and Nuffnang for hosting this event. The Croods is out in cinemas now!
